A mother of four yesterday committed suicide after a quarrel with her husband at brotherhood estates in Meru town.
According
to her husband Peter Wampui the deceased Judith Musyoka went missing at
the weekend after a domestic quarrel before her body was recovered by
police lying near Consolatta Girls Secondary school in North Imenti
District.
“The previous day before she went missing we had
a family dispute but it was not a big issue to trigger her to commit
suicide. I thought she was hiding somewhere maybe at her relatives place
since I had called her parents earlier who denied spotting her,” said
Wampui.
Confirming the incident area police Chief James Kithuka
said they suspected the woman committed suicide since a bottle of
methanol was also recovered besides her body.
Kithuka said
according to the documents that were found on the deceased pocket shown
that she had also gone for treatment at Meru Level Five Hospital before
she died.
He said the body was removed to Meru level 5 hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem analysis to prove the cause of the death.
“I
urge couples and members of the public to embrace dialogue in resolving
their disputes or even involve the elders to mediate upon their
problems other than take away their lives out anger,” noted the OCPD.
