Woman buried alive as quarry caves in

Nyeri - Tragedy has struck Kiganjo village in Nyeri County after a 50-year-old woman died when a quarry she was working in caved in, burrying her alive.
Police said the woman identified as Mary Njeri had just reported to work and was extracting stones at Bororo quarry when the incident occurred.
She had severe injuries on her head and back, according to Kieni East Deputy County commissioner, James Chacha.

Chacha said she was exhumed by her colleagues working in a neighbouring quarry who later rushed her to Kiganjo hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Chacha however said police have commenced investigations over the matter.
