Nakuru - A woman was among four armed robbers who were gunned down at Nakuru town Monday morning.
Nakuru - Four gangsters were gunned down by police at the KFA roundabout in Nakuru as they were planning to stage a robbery at a local bank.
An AK-47 rifle loaded with 10 rounds of ammunition was recovered from the gangsters.
Nakuru Divisional Police Commander, Bernard Kioko lauded residents who tipped the police by describing the vehicle that had been used to rob unsuspecting motorists around town.
“The four, among them a woman, were among six gangsters who had earlier been reported moving from one side of the town to another robbing motorists before they were cornered at the KFA roundabout, where they attempted to engage police in a shootout,” said Kioko.
“I want to thank the resident who tipped the police and even helped in spotting the gangsters,” he said.

"Police dared them to stop, but they opted to open fire.
“I urge members of the public to help us track the two gangsters who fled since we believe they sustained gunshot wounds," he said.
Kioko said investigations have been launched on the four gangsters who bore no identification documents.
He urged victims who might have been robbed by the gangsters to come forward and help police unravel the network of the six-member gang.
"We won't rest until we establish their hideout and get hold of the remaining two. Nakuru is a business hub for people ready to do honest business not gangsters," he said.
He said the bodies were taken to the Nakuru Municipal Mortuary, with a massive manhunt underway to track down the escape vehicle that he said had several bullet holes.
