Willy Paul loses to Bahati... Again!!

08 June 2015, 13:20 Eugene Odanga

Nairobi - The groove awards, which took place over the weekend, went down in style at the Kasarani indoor arena here in Nairobi. Many of the country’s top talents in gospel were in attendance at what is the biggest awards event for the Gospel industry.

Secular artists, in a strong show of support for their fellow artists were also present in numbers.

Of all the artist categories, everyone was looking forward to seeing who would bag the Male Artist of the year award. Bahati and Willy Paul went going head to head in this category, with Bahati edging his competition to take the prize. Bahati went ahead to win awards for Song of the year and video of the year for his song “Barua.”

Willy Paul, having not won a single award, took to social media to express his disappointment and congratulate his colleagues.

He wrote " Yesterday a lot went down... winners were crowned and those that didn’t win like me were there to support them... congratulations to all the groove awards ... I thought I would win ata moja (even one).... but guess I was wrong God had other plans.. We are all human being's and we’ve got feelings so sometimes when things don’t go the way we expect, we get hurt.... but the spirit is to always keep working hard.... I thought I worked hard last year together with Size 8," he said.

After his earlier altercation with Bahati, losing out to him in all the major categories will hurt Willy, but as the say, every dog has its day.
