Will satelite evidence corner Uhuru & his deputy?
16 April 2013, 12:41
It’s too early for our president His Excellency Hon. Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta and his Deputy Hon. Ruto William Samoei Ruto to celebrate, since it seems the I.C.C Prosecution team led by Fatou Bensouda has resorted to satellite evidence.
Kenya’s case has proved tricky for the I.C.C, more so since the election of the duet whose ‘date’ with the court is apparently increasingly becoming vague every day.
The challenges facing the prosecution team has greatly been affected by the massive withdrawal of testimonials by key witnesses who would have otherwise lessened the workload of the prosecution team in the long run.
As things stand now, no one can tell whether their efforts to net the duet will succeed or not.
As Americans say, we are still in the woods.
Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda insists that they must remain in person in The Hague until the full trial proceedings are over.
So what happens to Kenya from July when the President and his Deputy are out in The Hague?
Running the government via Skype is an option but we cannot rule out the possibility of another election.
An election chorus will come soon, no one can be so sure about the reverse either and Raila and his team might still be a ‘Drum Major’!
I may be dead wrong but let’s wait and see.
