Garissa - Police in Garissa are searching for a woman who nearly killed her husband by pouring hot cooking oil on him on Saturday morning following a disagreement.
Confirming the incident, Garissa OCPD, Benjamin Wangombe said they were investigating the matter and also searching for the woman.
“It is true, the woman has caused serious bodily injuries to her husband who is the Garissa County public service board member, Mohamed Dahir and we are still looking for her, we have been given hints by the public and we are doing all we can to ensure she faces the full force of the law,” he said.
The victim was rushed to Garissa Nursing Home, before being transferred to Nairobi Hospital where he is currently admitted.
“We are glad the doctors told us he is responding well to treatment, and we are hopeful it is not as serious as feared,” said Bishar Mohamed, a relative accompanying the victim at Nairobi hospital.
The woman, only known by her first name, Asli, is reported to have disappeared with their two young children after the incident.
