Why Raila failed to name politicians removed from Uhuru list
15 July 2015, 13:03
Nairobi - CORD leader Raila Odinga failed to name a list of persons who were allegedly removed from the list of shame presented by President Uhuru Kenyatta saying he was waiting for more explosive evidence.
Raila had said that he would release the list Tuesday but he failed to do so, a move which was explained by Orange Democratic Movement ODM MP Junet Mohammed, who said that they were waiting for more explosive evidence.
" We are waiting for more evidence and the party leader is confident it will add to the dossier he will release," he said.
There was however no mention of when Raila would release the list.
The CORD leader said that he would name the list of personalities he says were removed from the list before it was presented to Parliament earlier this year.
175 people were named on the list.
According to observers, if Raila does name names, it will be sure to cause jitters amongst the ruling Jubilee coalition.
" There will obviously be panic as far as that list is concerned. It is now, to wait and see what effect it will have, if any," political scientist Michael Njenga says.
" The fact is that because it is Raila and you are never sure what he can come up with, so we will wait and see," he added.
Jubilee coalition MPs have already rubbished the reports of the list as a false dawn from Raila and urged him to release it.
