Nairobi - Questions are abound as to why gunmen on a motorcycle would kill a young Nakumatt supermarkets manager.
The manager, a James Karanja Mwangi, was shot twice in the head and once in the chest shortly after leaving the company’s offices along Nairobi's Mombasa road Thursday evening.
He died on the spot.
Police were busy Friday trying hard to piece together evidence and try build a case for the murder of Mwangi, whose workmates described as jolly and hardworking.
Makadara OCPD Nehemiah Langat led the investigations into the Nakumatt headquarters, where the victim's workmates were interrogated over the killing.
" We are trying to piece together why has happened and why? Was it money? Was it a woman? Was it a deal gone sour? We will find out, he said Friday.
Mwangi was killed by the gunmen, who it is said sped away along Mombasa Road after the attack.
" They knew he was coming out at a certain time. They knew his movement and pounced. It was a planned murder.
" Further, they stole nothing from the victim as his phone and other personal effects were in his vehicle, a BMW. We will know in due course," he added.
Incidences of persons being attacked by people on motorcycles has increased in the country, something to concern security authorities.
