Where is my letter? Kaindi asks
04 September 2015, 14:16
Nairobi - Deposed Deputy Inspector General of Police Grace Kaindi says she does not have a letter saying she has been sacked and insists that she is still in office.
Kaindi, speaking Friday morning said that she was yet to be offered a letter detailing why she had been sacked as Deputy IG.
" I have yet to be given a letter and I am also yet to know why I was sacked and I have a contract running until 2018," she said Friday.
According to Kaindi, her age is not an issue and that there must be something else that she must have been sacked for as she is yet to hit 60 years of age, which is the mandatory retirement age.
She spoke as her replacement Joel Kitili took over his new office Friday.
He has taken over in an acting capacity.
Kitili was appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta in a move apparently designed to ensure that police reforms are put in place.
