Wetang'ula rally in bad taste says Lusaka

Nairobi - The planned rally in Bungoma by CORD Principal is a recipe for chaos, Governor Kenneth Lusaka has said.
Wetang'ula is planning to hold a mega rally Friday in the County to address the KES 109,000 wheelbarrow scandal that has engulfed the County government.
The rally though is said to have caused tension.
Supporters of Wetang'ula, the FORD Kenya leader and Lusaka, the New FORD Kenya leader are said to be tense and there is likely to be trouble ahead of or during and after the rally.
According to Lusaka, the rally is unnecessary.
" The rally is not needed. There are many ways to deal with such issues but not a rally," he told News24.
" This is not the time to politic and raise tension. Tension is already high and we are afraid that there could be violence which could cause a problem," he added.
Wetang'ula says that the rally is in good order.
" The reality is that there is an issue that needs to be addressed and the people want it to be, so we are going ahead with the rally," he stated.
" It is up to the County government come up with a plan for the security," he added.
The two leaders have been at loggerheads in the past and this latest effort by Wetang'ula to discredit Lusaka will build on Bungoma politics ahead of the 2017 General Elections.
