Wetangula, Kalonzo to campaign for Kajwang in Homa Bay

Nairobi - CORD leaders Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka will attend campaigns in Homa Bay over the weekend to help ODM candidate Moses Kajwang over the line.
The two leaders will join ODM boss Raila Odinga as the final stretch in the race for the Senatorial seat comes to the fore.
The by elections are set for February 13.
Kajwang is in the midst of a fierce battle for the seat, with Maendeleo Party of Kenya candidate Philip Okundi, who has been backed by several ODM leaders.
He will be looking to replace his late brother Gerald Otieno Kajwang.
" The two leaders will be on the ground over the weekend to support Kajwang as it is a matter of principle that the seat remain as much as possible in the CORD coalition," a source told News24.
There have been conflicting reports on the popularity of the candidates, with one poll saying Kajwang is the most popular and others stating that Okundi is in the lead.
Kajwang feels that he is the man to beat.
" I am the man to beat. My opponents know it and that is why they are publishing fake poll results to try dissuade my supporters," he claimed.
On his part, Okundi is also planning a number of campaigns over the weekend.
" We will be on the road. So far the feedback is very encouraging and I am happy with it. We are on the way to victory," he declared.
Okundi has been backed by some ODM members, not least Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero.
