Nairobi - Former Mathare MP George Wanjohi has said he will consult his advisers over the recent by- election, in which he lost his seat to ODM's Stephen Kariuki.
Wanjohi, who was representing The National Alliance TNA, lost to Orange Democratic Movement's Stephen Kariuki by less than 1,000 votes, polling 14,082 votes to Kariuki's14,966.
Having not had any complaints on election day, he cut a forlorn figure during the counting process and after the results were released, there was no official comment from his camp.
But according to an aide, he is looking at his options, which include appealing the result.
" There is no decision as yet. He has not conceded and as you have seen, there is no statement. He is considering his options, the aide that did not want to be named said.
He did confirm that an appeal could be on the way.
" There could be. He is looking at what to do. It is not a certainty but he is considering it, the source added.
Wanjohi could not be reached for comment.
There were reports of bribery allegations on voting day Monday as well as a few isolated incidences of violence and voter bribery but the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commision IEBC was happy with the election.
" The election has run smoothly and there have been no complaints from the candidates, Thomas Letangule and IEBC Commissioner said after the close of voting.
