Wanjiru finally decamps to TNA from ODM

Nairobi - Former Starehe MP Margaret Wanjiru has finally decamped to President Uhuru Kenyatta's National Alliance TNA from the Orange Democratic Movement ODM after months of speculation.
The former legislator and staunch ODM supporter officially made the move to TNA Wednesday after announcing her departure from the Orange party in September.
She was welcomed to her new home by party Secretary General George Onyango Oloo.
She announced that she would immediately set here sights on running for the Nairobi Governor's seat in the 2017 General Elections and said she feels at home in her new party.
" Thanks be to God this day has finally come. I feel at home here, my true home," she said of her move.
Wanjiru to her credit did not have any words for former party ODM, even though she was probed severally about her problems with the Raila Odinga led party.
" That is in the past and I choose to look forward to the future. That is what I am here for, to build for the future," she added.
Wanjiru becomes the first senior figure to jump between the country's two major parties and will be expected to bring stern competition to current Governor Evans Kidero come 2017.
" I put him on notice. He has to deliver. Nairobians deserve better, she shared a parting shot.
