Wambui to get direct TNA ticket

Nyeri - The immediate former Othaya MP, Mary Wambui will get a direct nomination by The National Alliance (TNA) party to defend her seat.
Nyeri town MP, Esther Murugi announced that Wambui will get a non-competitive TNA party ticket in the by-election.
Murugi cautioned the party management against nominating other persons in the Othaya parliamentary rac stating that Wambui is the most preferred candidate.
Wambui breathed a sigh of relief following the declaration that all the six MPs from the county and MCAs elected on TNA party ticket will camp in the constituency drumming up support for Wambui.
“Wambui’s vote while in parliament is a vote for the President. She is loyal to the party and am confident she will be re-elected,” said Kieni MP, James Mathenge-Kanini Kega.
Other MPs including Peter Weru (Mathira), Kabando wa Kabando (Mukurweini) and Ndung’u Gethenji (Tetu) were of the same opinion.
The Nyeri county assembly majority leader, Anthony Mwangi Kibuu said Wambui must recapture her seat stating that she had initiated more development projects in the constituency.
Wambui lost her seat following a successful petition that was filed by politician Peter Gichuki King’ara challenging her election.
The MPs had converged at a church in Nyeri town before proceeding to Othaya where they turned the church service to a political rally.
