Nyeri - Othaya Member of parliament, Mary Wambui, has pledged to complete all development projects initiated by former area MP and head of state, Mwai Kibaki.
Wambui said the local Constituency Development Fund (CDF) will first give priority to all projects started during Kibaki’s tenure.
She said the projects will get any extra funding required to facilitate their immediate completion.
She was speaking at Chinga Community Hall over the weekend while disbursing cheques worth KES 9.8 million to go to community projects.
The legislator also instructed the project committees receiving funding from CDF to ensure they get expert advice from the Ministry of Public Works for quality work and also avoid wastage.
The CDF kitty, Wambui said, was meant to stimulate development in constituencies. She further stated that development committees should engage local suppliers and workers so that such funds can benefit local businesses and residents.
The first term MP further urged the constituents to put their political differences aside and embark on development.
