Nairobi - The senate commitee formed to hear the case against Embu Governor Martin Wambora has failed to take off.
Wambora had been summoned to the hearing to defend himself from impeachment charges allayed by members of his county assembly.
But the hearing failed to kick off Friday after his lawyer Wilfred Nyamu said he had not been served with papers on time.
" I had not been served on time and thus could not prepare for this hearing effectively, he said.
But committee members argued that they had known of the procedure and called on Nyamu to be truthful about the matter.
" He requires time to respond given the nature of allegations made
against him. We propose that the Governor be given up to Monday to file
his response to the Committee, Mr Nyamu said.
The governor has been impeached for the second time over what the MCAs term as mismanagement of affairs in the county.
