Nairobi - In latest revelations over graft at the Devolution Ministry, it has emerged that officials bought ball point pens worth KES 8,700 each.

The revelations were made during a Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee PAC meeting where the ministry's accounts were researched.

For example there was the supply and installation of a touch screen television in Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru's office at a cost of KES 1.798 million. Computers, a printer, telephone headsets and a water dispenser were also bought at a combined cost of KES 1.4 million.

The award winning Huduma Kenya Secretariat paid KES 174,000 for 20 blue, fine-tipped ball point pens, each costing KES 8,700 plus a photocopier machine at KES 1.4 million.

45 external hard disks were bought at KES 11,102 each plus a laptop bought for KES 206,000. There were also 18 tailor-made clear male and female condom dispensers at KES 25,000 each.
