Verdict: Uhuru's day in court
08 October 2014, 14:50
Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta's day in court at the International Criminal Court was highly anticipated but what are the thoughts of Kenyans on the proceedings?
The president went to the trouble of taking two days off his role at State House but for what purpose? Many have posed. Here are the thoughts of a few learned Kenyans.
" It was underwhelming and to be honest, should be terminated. The prosecution has failed to show the way forward and the only one I feel who had a case was the person representing the victims", political analyst Michael Njenga said.
Others just felt it was unnecessary to have the president travel all the way to the Hague.
" I did not see any need. It felt like they were trying to see whether he would refuse the summon. Video link would have sufficed in this case", Victor Ongwae a political analyst too had to say.

Kenyans too felt underwhelmed by the proceedings, with many on Facebook saying it was uncalled for to have the president travel all the way to the Hague.
" This is Neo- colonialism. It was not a must he travel there if he did not have anything to say", Jimmy Karinge said.
" That was it,"? Oloo Oringo asked.
" Maybe we missed the real Status Conference, did we? George Isaac asked.
The president is expected back in the country Thursday.
