Eldoret - A middle-aged man believed to be a student at Kisii University was lynched by an angry mob Monday after he allegedly stabbed to death his former girlfriend who was a second-year student at Moi university's West Campus.
According to the Eldoret West OCPD, Smollets Munyianzi, the man visited the lady at her house Sunday night around 8pm, and told her cousin who was present that he was on a mission to kill the lady and later kill himself.
"The man entered into the room where he found his ex and her cousin. (He) locked the door and then made it clear that he had gone there to kill the girl and himself," said the Eldoret West OCPD.
He then gave the lady's cousin KES 6 000 which he said was for burial arrangements before he stabbed her several times.

The lady raised an alarm, attracting neighbours who later lynched the man as he tried to escape.
"Before the man stabbed the girl, he gave her cousin money which he said would help in burial arrangements and then stabbed her with a knife. He also hit her with a piece of wood several times," noted the OCPD.
The lady died before the police could arrive at the scene of the incident.
"The reason why the man stabbed the lady is not yet established but we believe it is because of their relationship," said Munyianzi.
The two ended their relationship last month and their bodies were taken to the Moi Teaching and Referal hospital mortuary in Eldoret.
