Kampala - A 25-year-old man who claimed to be a student at Makerere University has been arrested by police after robbing ten girlfriends of their money and mobile phones.
Police has identified the young man as Peter Katumba, a resident of Luwafu, and confirmed he was indeed a University student.
He is being held at Kampala central police station.
Kampala metropolitan police spokesman, Patrick Onyango said that the arrest was made following a tip from one of the girls he robbed.
''According to information we got from the victims, he first befriends them for love, then takes them out once or twice before robbing them," said Onyango.
After the arrest and his photo published in a local newspaper, nine other girls reported to police saying they were also robbed by him.
One of them said that he stole her university tuition fees and a laptop.
Police said that he will soon appear in court to be charged with theft.
