Property worth millions of shillings was reduced into flames early Wednesday morning after a fierce fire broke out in one of the garages at a Nakuru's industrial area.
The fire whose cause was not established immediately is believed to have started at around at around 3:00 Am from one of the garages before quickly spreading to other rooms.
Fire fighters from Nakuru Municipal Council had a difficult time taming the fire owing to some explosive items inside the garage.
Over five gas cylinders exploded during that inferno making the fire fighters retreat because of the explosive nature of the cylinders.
At some point, the fire men run out of water and were forced to go back to draw more water from the hydrants which were about 2 kilometers away from the scene of the fire.
During the incident, over ten cars were gutted down together with some several other shops which were located next to the garage.
No one was injured during the inferno that lasted for about 4hours.
Police from the central police station also had a difficult time controlling the curious onlookers at the scene.
