Nakuru - Ulinzi Stars striker Evans Amwoka featured for the team in the Kenya Premier League match against Mathare United after missing the team’s last two games following the death of his father.
Ulinzi coach, Salim Ali started him upfront and though he never actually got to bang in the goals, Ali believes that it is just a matter of time before he gets his scoring boots on.
“He was very instrumental over the weekend, where he created so many chances. I believe we still haven’t gotten our scoring touch and once it comes, we will be good,” Ali said in a statement posted on the team’s website.
According to the coach, Amwoka showed a lot of experience and composure as well as guiding the young boys who are still learning the ropes in the premier league.
“It is just a matter of time before he gets his goal,” said Ali.
Ali also praised the team’s defense which has kept four consecutive clean sheets.
“As much as we have a problem upfront, we have been solid at the back and I must congratulate my defense and keeper Danco. They have done a good job. We now need to sharpen on our striking which has been on the low,” the tactician said.
The team will be back in training to prepare for the clash against former KPL champions Tusker FC at the weekend.
