Ulinzi Stars humbled by Tusker Fc

In another mouth watering game played on Sunday at Afraha stadium at Nakuru, Ulinzi Stars yet again failed to deliver a win as they lost miserably to the defending champions of the Kenya Premier league (KPL) Tusker FC after being smashing two goals to nil courtesy of Kenneth Wendo of Tusker who scored both goals that silenced the Ulinzi supporters who had turned up for the game.
In the first half of the game, Ulinzi seemed to have surmounted all manner of attacks and dominating the game against the visitors side Tusker, those efforts by Ulinzi seemed almost to pay off in the 17th minute when Mulinge Ndeto was supplied with a superb cross from Owino but only failed to connect it to the net shooting it over the bar past.
Tusker FC on the other hand also had numerous chances to score but also failed to take any of them as well. But as Ulinzi Stars defense started to link on the 25th minute, Amwako almost caused a goal for his team when he failed to clear a ball in the box giving an opportunity to a waiting P Opioyo of Tusker who almost slotted in from a close range.
But it was until 39th minute when Kenneth Wendo connected a throw ball to the net of the army side after a blunderer’s clearance by Ulinzi Stars defense that left the alone striker Wendo unmarked and thus scoring the first goal of the game.
And just in a nick of a minute after that first goal for Tusker, the home side seemed to be making some efforts to return to the game when Waruru took a close range shot to the Tusker side but only his cross to be intercepted by the giant defender for Tusker Shikotole who cleared the ball away.
In the second half things went from being bad to worse for Ulinzi as Tusker started dominating most of the balls in the game living the susceptible Ulinzi midfield with nothing to do but chase after a ball that they seemed not to find as Tusker continued to play their areal balls which Ulinzi is not used to .
Ulinzi chances to redeem themselves back in to the game continued to grow weaker in the second half as the visitors Tusker continued to put more pressure on the military side.
And in the 75th minute Mulinge yet again was overpowered by Kenneth Wendo as he tapped in a well made cross from Santos from just the edge of the box to make things be 2 goals for Tusker fc .
This defeat for Ulinzi, is the second one in a row following their last weekend encounter defeat to Sofapaka that they lost one goal to nil in the last minutes of that game.
