Uhuru wants Raila to retire from politics

26 February 2013, 13:10Wangui Joseph

The National Alliance (TNA) and Jubilee coalition presidential candidate Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday asserted that Prime Minister Raila Odinga is dragging the country behind and therefore should accompany President Kibaki in retiring.

Uhuru said his government will provide pension benefits to Raila if he accepts to retire from the country’s politics.

Voters have power to send Raila home

Speaking at Dedan Kimathi Kamukunji Stadium in Nyeri town, Uhuru and his running mate William Ruto said voters have the power to send Raila home after his long term experience in politics.

He also pleaded with Central Kenya electorates to vote for TNA candidates only (Six piece) in the region.

Uhuru argued that having majority members in parliament will enable the Jubilee government to pass bills that are crucial and beneficial to public without much opposition.

Unlike other parts of the country where voters are revolting ‘six piece’, Nyeri people kept quite indicating that they concurred with the idea.

Ensure Jubilee wins during first round

He also urged them to turn out in large numbers on March 4 to ensure Jubilee clinches to power within the first round of the voting exercise.

Ruto dismissed the recent opinion polls saying they are always manipulated to favour one side of the coalitions, thus their results should not be considered by any eligible voter.

The duo later visited Kirinyaga and Murang’a Counties.
