Nyeri - Nyeri County leaders have asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to award retired General of the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF), Julius Karangi with a cabinet post in the government.
The leaders led by Tetu MP, Ndung’u Gethenji, appealed to Kenyatta to hire Karangi for any post within the security docket.
Gethenji said the retired general is very much experienced, has merit and all the energy needed for him to serve in the government.
The MP said even if he is given a post as national security adviser to the government or to the President, it will be appreciated.

The MP was speaking at Mutathi-ini AIPCA church in his Tetu constituency on Tuesday during the burial of Grace Kirigo, who was the mother to prominent Nairobi businessman Nderitu Wachira.
“We need Nyeri people to be represented in this government,” he added.
Karangi, who was also in attendance at the burial ceremony as a neighbour to the family, evaded commenting on the matter but urged locals to back the government’s Nyumba Kumi initiative saying everybody must be involved in the fight against crime.
