Uhuru to visit Mathare, Korogocho slums
13 January 2015, 13:32
Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta will visit the Mathare, Mukuru Wa Njenga and Korogocho slums to flag off the youth empowerment programme.
The president will flag off the programme in the afternoon in the slum areas as he seeks to build youth facilitation programmes in the areas.
The programme seeks to help the youth start their own initiatives in slum areas and help build entrepreneurship and kill joblessness.
He will be flanked by Devolution Secretary Ann Waiguru and Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero.
Security in the area has been raised to optimum levels as the president's arrival is awaited.
The Youth Empowerment initiative is a concept created by the Jubilee Government to try end insecurity, terrorism and radicalism by job creation.
