Uhuru shocked by Fidel death, condoles Raila

Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta has condoled CORD leader Raila Odinga on the loss of his first son Fidel Odinga and promised support during this tough time for his family.
Fidel died of unknown reasons Sunday morning at his Karen home, prompting an outpouring of grief from members of the public.
Uhuru says that Fidel's death is a blow to the country and has expressed his shock at the news.
" I have learnt with express shock of the passing of Fidel Odinga, son to former Prime Minister and close friend Raila Odinga, he said in a statement.
" This is a big loss not only to you and your family but the entire country, he added.
He also stated that Kenyans are behind Odinga and his family at this trying moment.
" On behalf of my family, the Government and the people of Kenya, and on
my own behalf, please accept our deepest sympathies and heartfelt
condolences," President Kenyatta said.
His Deputy William Ruto also expressed his shock at the death of Fidel, a man he says he has known well.
" I express my shock and despair at Fidel Odinga's untimely death. May his soul rest in peace and God help at this trying time his family and friends, he added.
Other leaders too expressed their shock at Fidel's death, with leaders both in the opposition as well as government ranks sending their messages of condolence.
The cause of Fidel's death is yet to be established, with police already holding investigations over the incident.
