Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta is happy with gains made by his government in the last one year but says there is still plenty to do.
Speaking in Nanyuki Thursday during the ongoing cabinet retreat, he stressed the importance of learning from mistakes and looking to the future.
" It is important that we look ahead and build ahead. We have all learnt different things and we look forward to growing as a nation, he said.
He did add that despite there being challenges, his government had learnt from what had taken place in the past.
" It is important that we learn from experience and improve as a government with hindsight to what has happened in the past.
Further, he insisted that the government had so far done as well as it possibly could to improve the nation.
" We have done well in some aspects and not so well in others. The key ingredient is to improve in those we have not done so well in, he added.
Security has been a key issue in the past year and the president was not mincing his words as regards the vice.
" We have to take on insecurity and ensure it is eradicated. We cannot have an insecure nation and expect to have economic growth.
The cabinet retreat will end Friday.
