Uhuru beats Kidero to buy KES 1.1 million bull

Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta outbid Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero to buy a champion bull at the Nairobi International Show Friday.
Uhuru outbid Kidero by offering KES 1.1 million, the highest that could be raised by any individual on the day.
Kidero bid KES 950,000 for the 630 kilogramme bull but failed and could only win the reserve bull.
Both will be donated to Nairobi County Police officers as a thank you over their efforts to ensure security in the city.
The President had earlier opened the week long Nairobi show where he urged the need for Kenyan companies and entities to continue raising the name of the country.
" It is important to see Kenyan companies make their name out there and ensure that our products are of a high quality," he stated.
The opening of the show was however marred by low numbers as school children who are at home because of the ongoing teachers strike did not make it.
