Nairobi - President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto have pledged support for the family of the late Otieno Kajwang after visiting his home.
President Kenyatta and Deputy President Ruto visited and condoled with the family of the late Senator Gerald Otieno Kajwang at his Runda home.
The president conveyed his condolences and assured the bereaved family of his support during this difficult time of grief.
" The news of Senator Kajwang’s death has reached us with overwhelming shock and sorrow. We are here to assure you of our support, he said on his visit.

The President described him as a great leader who never feared to speak his mind. He added that leaders should emulate Kajwang’s legacy and work together in the best interest of the country.
" Senator Kajwang used to say that politics is not enmity. We should follow in his example," the President said.
DP Ruto said he knew the late Homa Bay legislator as a leader who stood tall in everything he did.
" Senator Kajwang was a great man. More than anything else, he believed in his vision, was proud of his constituency and his party but – I must say – he was very proud of his country. That is the legacy we want to emulate,” the Deputy President said.
Kajwang is expected to be buried next week after results of his autopsy are released Friday. The autopsy was done at Nairobi's Lee Funeral home where his body is currently lying.
