Nairobi - The National Alliance TNA and the United Republican Party URP as well as other minor parties will dissolve in December to form the Jubilee Alliance Party JAP, it has been announced.
The inter-party steering Committee set up to ensure that the management of the merger goes on well said Monday that things are so far going on well.
" We are on track and the various committees set up to ensure that the merger goes smoothly are ongoing with their work and we are confident that we will do it," Committee head Kiraitu Murungi told the press in Nairobi Monday.
There has previously been disagreement by various parties in the coalition over the mode of the merger as well as the end product.
MP's especially from URP have not been happy at all with the move to merge the parties and have threatened in the past not to agree with the move.
However, party chiefs President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto have stated that they will be making the best move in joining the parties so as to consolidate the parties.
JAP has already fielded a number of candidates for various elections.
