Nairobi - Governors and members of Parliament from the Rift Valley who have not been attending prayer rallies for Deputy President William Ruto and radio presenter Joshua Sang’ have been put on notice by the United Republican Party URP.
Kuresoi north member of parliament Moses Cheboi said that URP has noted that some of its members of parliament and governors have never attended any prayer rally since they started.
Speaking Tuesday at Kuresoi town Cheboi said the URP party has written to identified members and asked them to explain why they have been giving the rallies a wide berth.
“It cannot make sense that when we are moving across the country praying for the deputy president some of our members are nowhere to be seen and we have written to them and warned them of dire consequences should they not change,” said Cheboi
“If they don’t tore the line we will be forced to name and shame them and ask wananchi to reject them and punish them in 2017 and many who will be affected will be governors and some rude MP’s,” he added.
He called on all leaders from the political and religious divide and all wananchi from rift valley to join hands together in praying for the DP by attending the prayer rallies in larger numbers.
