UDF to recall nominated Senator
08 October 2014, 10:13
Nyeri - The United Democratic Forum (UDF) party officials are contemplating recalling nominated Senator, Martha Wangari who hails from Murang’a County.
The party officials drawn from Mount Kenya region said Wangari does not show respect for party leader, Musalia Mudavadi and the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) decisions.
Wangari is the only UDF nominated senator.
“Martha Wangari should respect the party leader and NEC resolutions and thereby we call upon the Murang’a UDF branch to summon her to ask her retract previous confusing statement which portrayed the party in bad light,” said the officials during a presser at a Nyeri town hotel Tuesday.
“We shall recommend her replacement with another woman from Mount Kenya region,” they added.

The Nyeri county chairman, Wambugu Nyamu pointed out that UDF developed muscles and recognition after Mudavadi’s entry adding that initially the party ‘was only a structure’.
“This was due to political mileage through his political goodwill and financial input,” Wambugu hailed Mudavadi.
He further expressed discontent that the party had not been rewarded by the Jubilee government despite its continuous support.
The officials who were drawn from Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Nyandarua, Kiambu and Murang’a counties said they were supporting the decision to rebrand the party.
They however said the party’s constitution should be ratified since some members have deserted the party.
