Two suspected gangsters lynched

Two suspected gangsters were lynched by irate members of the public at Kasuku trading centre in Nyandarua County Wednesday morning.
Confirming the incident, Nyandarua North Police chief Benjamin Onsongo said that the two young men in their early 20s were burnt beyond recognition by the mob that suspected them of being members of a criminal gang that has been terrorizing the public.
“One of them had been cornered by the mob and was ordered to reveal the hideouts of his other accomplices,” said Onsongo.
The police said that he was forced to call his colleagues once they arrived at the shopping center. One of them showed up only for them to be burnt to death.
However, another colleague managed to escape the wrath of the mob.
Onsongo appealed to the public not to take such matters into their own hands urging them to report the criminals to the police for thorough investigations and other legal procedures.
The two suspects are yet to be identified.
