The EACC officers arrested the duo in their offices on September 1, 2015 and took them to Railway Police Station where they were released on a police bond of KES 20 000 each.
The EACC western Kenya Regional Officer, Edwin Waudo while confirming their arrest had said that they demanded the bribe to restore a case that police had closed.
Waudo pointed out that the prosecutors deceived the complainant that the case could be reopened if he gave them KES 15 000 despite the police recommendation for its closure.
