Two in court over robbery with violence

Nanyuki - Two men were Wednesday arraigned in a Nanyuki court on charges of robbery with violence.
Joseph Mathenge and Patrick Njiru charged that on November 21, 2014 at Likii village in Nanyuki, while armed with pangas, robbed Franklin Ojuando of two television sets, two mobile phones and a laptop all valued at KES 206 000.
In his evidence, Ojuando narrated in court how he was awoken by a commotion in his sitting room at around 2.00am that day.
When he went to check what was happening, the suspects ordered him to go back to sleep as they continued looting.

He said the robbers hurriedly escaped with the items mentioned in the suit before he could raise an alarm.
Ojuando reported the matter to the Nanyuki police station and was summoned two days later to identify some of the items recovered from the suspects.
