Two held for raping minors

Two men are being held at Kodiaga Maximum Prison for having defiled minors on different occasions in Vihiga County.
A 28-year-old man was slapped with a KES 100 000 bond and KES 50 000 cash bail in Hamisi Law Courts after he raped a 10-year old minor.
Daniel Akwesa pleaded innocent before Senior Principal Magistrate Julius Ng’arng’ar.
On July 19, Akwesa had forced the young girl, against her will, to have sexual intercourse with her which left the minor with physical injuries.
Budaywa sub location assistant chief Livingstone Busolo had said that the man has been raping the young girl persistently for a long time.
He could not raise the cash bail, and thus was remanded at Kodiaga Maximum Prison. The mentioning of the case is set for July 26 this year.
Meanwhile, the pastor who was on the run after raping an eight-year-old girl in Chanzeywe village Mungoma location was arrested and arraigned in Vihiga Law Court.
Haman Amoi, 60, raped the minor in a maize plantation and immediately went into hiding upon realising his mistake.
He appeared before Vihiga Principal Magistrate, Mrs Grace Mmasi and pleaded guilty and was slapped with a KES 200 000 bond with a person of similar surety.
He is remanded at Kodiaga Maximum Prison waiting to appear before the court for the mentioning of the case.
