Two arraigned for hawking stolen goat meat

Nanyuki - Two men have been arraigned in a Nanyuki court for allegedly hawking meat of a stolen goat.
The two, George Mathenge and Peter Muriithi, allegedly stole the goat from Grace Gacheche and slaughtered it before heading to Nanyuki town to sell to unsuspecting members of the public.
Grace told Principal Magistrate Florence Macharia that she had left her goat pen well secured in the morning but on returning, she realized that one of her goats was missing.

The complainant suspected Muriithi, who was her neigbour, was involved and reported the matter at Chief’s camp.
The suspect and the co-accused were arrested while hawking the meat and escorted to Nanyuki police station.
However, the accused persons denied the allegations before court and the case were set to proceed on May 11, 2015.
