Administration police officers together with members of public at Boresingwaya in Magarini district have arrested three suspects in connection to the killing of a motorcyclist on Sunday.
Eye witnesses said the deceased left home on Sunday morning for work but did not return in the evening leading to villagers to start looking for him everywhere.
Magarini district commissioner Richard Karani confirmed the incident saying the trio are being held at Magarini administration police camp as investigations into the matter start.
Karani said the deceased body was found in a bush nearby his home but the motorcycle he had has not been recovered yet.
He said the suspects were arrested by his officers through the assistance of members of public who had spotted the trio running away to a neighboring town.
"The deceased left home on Sunday and he did not come back. Therefore, locals started looking for him. On Monday evening his body was found in a bush nearby his home and then the search for the suspects started," explained the DC.
The DC who is also the security chairman in the area added that one of the three suspects is a key to all information required concerning the murder.
He said they will be handed over to Malindi police officers of scenes of crime who will take them to court to answer murder charges once the investigations are completed.
The DC noted that police officers from Malindi district were heading to the scene of crime to collect the body of the deceased.
He called on motorcycle operators to cooperate with police in curbing insecurity in the area by reporting criminals so that they can be arrested to avoid such incidents in future.
