Top cop jailed for 10 years for killing junior colleague

Busia - A former police inspector who allegedly killed his colleague has been sentenced to a 10 year jail term by a Busia court.
According to the prosecution, Alexander Kihara who was an inspector at Malaba Police Station, committed the crime in November 4, 2011.
Busia Chief Magistrate, Daniel Ogembo while giving his judgment said that the prosecution had proved beyond doubt that the accused killed Corporal Mohamed Harraw.
“It is beyond reasonable doubt that the accused killed his junior colleague Harrow,” said Ogembo.
The magistrate ruled that the accused will serve five years for the first count of manslaughter and another five years for the second count of causing grievous body harm. Both sentences will run concurrently.
