Three women conned ahead of police recruitment

Nyeri - Three women were over the weekend conned KES 60,000 on pledges that their sons would be successfully absorbed into the Kenya Police Service in the recruitment that kicked of Monday.
The trio, from Kieni Nyeri County gave KES 20,000 each to a man who claimed that he had advanced connections with senior officials in the police service.
The man told the women that he would talk to the recruiting officers to ensure that their sons successfully joined the force.
They said the man was unreachable on phone after they sent the money through mobile phone transfer service.
While confirming the incident, area OCS John Kemboi said police had launched investigations into the matter as they try to trace the suspect.
