Three fishermen drown in Lake Naivasha

Nakuru - Three fishermen drowned in Lake Naivasha Wednesday night after their boat capsized during a fishing expedition.
The three were in a group of six fishermen who were fishing in the lake. Three others were rescued by fellow fishermen Thursday morning.
According to Naivasha Sub-County Fisheries Officer, Mathew Ngira, the fishermen are suspected to have been on an illegal fishing mission.

“They drowned after their boat capsized and they were on an illegal fishing expedition because night fishing is banned at the Lake,” said Ngira who was addressing press at his office Thursday morning.
He added: “Officials from the fisheries department with the help of the police have recovered two bodies and the search for the missing body is still on.”
