Nyeri - Three people have died while two others sustained injuries in separate road accidents involving boda boda operators in Kirinyaga County.
Area Deputy Police Commander, Charles Ontita, has said that the first accident occurred in Kerugoya town where a boda boda operator died instantly after colliding with a personal vehicle.
He said that the second accident occurred at Karia-Itharaine village where another operator and his passenger died after his motorbike’s tyre burst, forcing him to veer off the road.

He noted that two women who had turned up to rescue the victims were also hit by a speeding vehicle and were taken to hospital with hand and leg injuries.
Ontita has appealed to boda boda operators and motorists to exercise care and observe traffic rules to minimize accidents.
He said police have enhanced patrols to get rid of un-roadworthy vehicles and arrest anyone found flouting traffic rules.
