Nairobi - Police in Witeithie Estate in Thika are looking for two men believed to have murdered another man by hitting him with a stone block in broad daylight on Wednesday after an argument over accusations that he was a thief.
The killers are believed to have intercepted the unidentified man on a street, and after an argument that lasted several minutes, one of them took a stone block and hit him on the head, killing him instantly.
“It did not look like a big issue. I heard the man pleading that he had just escorted a lady friend. A minute later, I saw the two tug at him, then one of them took the stone block and hit him with it on the head. They frisked him of his wallet then walked off as if nothing had happened”, Said the witness who asked to withhold her name for security purposes.
Another witness said that the killers are known persons operating a shop nearby, and that they did not run or appear disturbed.
“It is no longer safe here if a man can be mercilessly murdered on a street in broad daylight by known peoplethen stay there for four hours without the police noticing. And whatever it was, to me it did not look like he was a thief ”, She said.
Recently, cases of murder and mugging have risen in Witeithie Estate with four people killed in the last one month and many others mugged of their valuables.
