12 August 2015, 14:38
Nairobi - A tenant shot his landlord in an argument over rent arrears in Nairobi's South B estate.
The scuffle took place Tuesday evening after the tenant arrived home to find his house locked and when he was confronted over rent arrears, proceeded to pull out his gun and shoot at the landlord.
The landlord was injured in the elbow.
He was rushed to the nearby Mater hospital and is in stable condition.
Makadara OCPD Nehemiah Langat said that the incident was unfortunate and that the pistol was confiscated from the tenant.
" It is unfortunate that such incidents can take place and we will ensure charges are leveled, " he stated.
It is not clear how much in terms of rent arrears the tenant owned his landlord.
