Teen faces probe over bestiality charges

20 August 2013, 13:36 John Kioko

Kwale - Detectives in Kwale are questioning a 17-year-old boy who allegedly engaged in unnatural act with a goat at Galana village in Kwale district.

The teen is said to be employed as a herder. He was at work when he allegedly sexually abused one of the animals.

Kwale district deputy police chief Sammy Nyongesa confirmed the incident and said the suspect is being questioned regarding the issue.

He said that the suspect was arrested after his employer reported the matter to community policing officers in the area.

“The complainant found one of his goats discharging blood from her rear immediately after the suspect brought them back from grazing,” he said.

Ffter the suspect was interrogated by his employer he disappeared but was arrested by community policing officers a week later.

“He was arrested by community policing who escorted him to Kwale police station," he added.

Nyongesa urged locals and religious leaders in the area to sensitise children on moral values in order to do away with such cases which are against both the law and religious teachings.

According to Nyonges, the suspect is expected to appear in court after investigations are complete.
