A secondary school teacher in Vihiga County is being held hostage at Kodiaga Maximum Prison in Kisumu after he failed to raise the KES 300 000 bond for allegedly sodomising a 19 year old student.
Samuel Mulamula, a teacher at Chavakali National School was arraigned before Vihiga Senior Resident Magistrate Susan Mwangi on Thursday to answer the said charges.
He was charged that on March 15th, he intentionally used force and unlawfully caused physical harm to the teen, who is a candidate, in his house at Chavakali junction.
This rape case contravened section 3 (1)(a) as read with section 3(3) of the Sexual Offences Act as No. 3 of 2006.
The accused pleaded not guilty and was handed a KES 300 000 bond no cash bail with similar surety, which he has since failed to raise.
Many residents flocked to the usually not so busy court to witness as the teacher who is conspicuously known for this behaviour was being arraigned before the magistrate.
It was reported that the teacher has received already several transfers from his previous schools because of the same allegations, yet gets the chance again by bribing educational officials and being reinstated to his position.
