Murang'a - A primary school teacher from Githiga village in Kangema, Murang’a County, has committed suicide.
The body of Simon Muthaka Maina, 46, was found Friday midday dangling from the roof of his bedroom by his wife, Lydia Wangechi.
Wangechi said that she had gone to take their child to school when the incident occurred.
“When I came back from the school at Kandara, I found the front door open and after entering and switching on the lights I saw the body of my husband hanging on the bedroom roof,” Wangechi lamented.
She rushed out of the house screaming, prompting neighbours to throng the scene.

However, while confirming the incident, Murang’a police commander Naomi Ichami suspected that the deceased committed suicide over life predicaments and domestic wrangles.
“The information we have already gathered indicates that the late has been having trouble raising school fees for their two children and also due to conflicts with his wife,” observed Ichami.
The police boss said that suicide cases are on increase in the County mostly by men.
She asked local residents to learn how to handle domestic challenges amicably and confide in close friends.
