Teacher charged for assaulting journalist in her office

Vihiga - The headteacher who assaulted a Vihiga-based journalist who was following up on a case of child abuse has been charged with assault.
Wilkister Omole, the headteacher of Ebusiratsi primary school last week assaulted Francis Onguko of Royal Media Services at her office.
Appearing before Maseno Resident Magistrate, Millicent Nyigei, Omole however denied the charges.

The court heard that on May 7, 2015 at Ebusiratsi primary school in Ebukhubi sub location, Vihiga County, the headteacher unlawfully attacked the journalist who was at work and in the process injured him.
She pleaded innocent and asked the court to pardon her as she was suffering from diabetes and ulcers.
She was released on KES 20 000 bond or cash bail of KES 5 000.
The case will be heard on May 21, 2015.
