Taxi operators demand release of detained vehicles

Nairobi - Taxi operators have moved to court to seeking the
release of 114 vehicles detained following a directive from the Inspector
General of Police David Kimaiyo.
The taxis were detained in a day long strike by PSV operators who were demanding the reduction of parking charges and rates in the city.
Peter Mburu, Laban Maina, Peter Wanjama, Lawrence Kimani,
and Job Nzioka claimed that the move has denied them their right to earning a

operators were arrested, charged, fined and the number plates to their vehicles
were removed number plates.
Justice Weldon Korir certified the case as urgent and
directed it to be heard on March 24.
